DeSantis v. Canady, part 1: the angels root for carnage
The Hope Florida Medicaid scam and/or criminal conspiracy - like the Piccolo's Persistent Penis scandal - is what always happens when citizens choose to put the worst possible human beings in power.
Here is Rep. Alex Andrade, R-Pensacola openly describing the DeSantis Marriage’s “Hope Florida” scandal as a criminal conspiracy.
“While I’m firmly convinced that James Uthmeier and Jeff Aaron engaged in a conspiracy to commit money laundering and wire fraud, and that several parties played a role in the misuse of $10 million in Medicaid funds, we as legislators will not be the ones making the ultimate charging decisions.”
Here is James Uthmeier, acting on the DeSantis Marriage’s behalf back in 2023 to make Jennifer Canady speaker designate — in order to stick it to Donald Trump. LOL.
And this week, here is Ron DeSantis saying: “Et tu, J-Can?” …
It saddens me to see my fellow Republicans quarrel, particularly when they enjoyed such warm intimacy so recently. Look at how Jennifer Canady, R-Lakeland beamed at Ron DeSantis as he signed her 6-week forced birth law back in Spring 2023. This beautiful moment now seems very very long ago.
A political tradwife’s messy divorce
Jennifer Canady is definitely a political tradwife when it comes to individual public agency. Her Supreme Court Justice husband made her a state representative. DeSantis and Uthmeier made her speaker designate. She didn’t have the womanhood to tell her voters she was planning to impose 6-week forced birth on them against their will. Instead, she vague-lied to my face when I asked about it over-and-over again at a candidate forum before her election.
The Canady/DeSantis divorce comes from this simple bit of unfaithfulness: she has quietly backed the communist socialist GOP Speaker of the House — and Democrats!! — in taking the assuredly “leftist” position that politicians shouldn’t steal from Medicaid — even to defeat a pro-marijuana amendment, benefit the DeSantis Marriage, and set up Casey for 2028. Sad!
Go read Lawrence Mower and Alexandra Glorioso with the Tampa Bay Times for the full detailed account of the sordid mechanics that drive the Hope Florida scandal.
But it basically reduces to Uthmeier, on DeSantis’ behalf, laundering $10M from a Medicaid fraud settlement through Casey’s Hope Florida “charity” into the anti-Amendment 3 campaign. Amendment 3 would have legalized recreational weed.
To be sure, Jennifer Canady has not shown any personal public courage or leadership in crippling the DeSantis dictatorship over the Hope Florida scandal. She’s left that to the men — Andrade and Speaker of the House Danny Perez. That’s what she does.
Yet, by all accounts and sources to whom I’ve spoken, she is resolutely — if silently — standing by her men on Team Danny. She’s betting that DeSantis is done and that Danny is the better provider now. DeSantis knows it. He’s out here blast texting Lakeland Republicans to lean on her. (Take note Lakeland City Commissioners: it is perfectly fine — and necessary — to pressure our state reps like DeSantis does. More on that in Part 2.)
Yeah, TBH, Canady did betray Ron
And pity poor Ron for a moment — at least when it comes to Canady and 6-week forced birth.
DeSantis and Uthmeier used different pots of similarly shady, public-ish money, funneled through varying sleazy groups to protect Canady from voters on Amendment 4, which would have overturned her 6-week forced birth law if it got to 60 percent. See Jason Garcia on those details.
DeSantis and Uthmeier used that sleazy money to falsely sell Amendment 4 as total abortion-on-demand with no rules. And total abortion-on-demand still got 57 percent of the vote in Florida. The image below shows how the city of Lakeland, Canady’s home, voted on Amendment 4. Orange is “yes.”
As you can see, Canady’s own voters overwhelmingly chose total abortion-on-demand with no rules. A more precise referendum setting a 15-week compromise with real exceptions would have gotten 80 percent of the vote.
Uthmeier and DeSantis shielded her from that humiliation and rejection.
And how does Jennifer Canady, ungrateful tradwife turncoat, thank her heretofore work husbands? She nods along when Alex Andrade says this:
“While I’m firmly convinced that James Uthmeier and Jeff Aaron engaged in a conspiracy to commit money laundering and wire fraud, and that several parties played a role in the misuse of $10 million in Medicaid funds, we as legislators will not be the ones making the ultimate charging decisions.”
LOL. You can see why Ron is big mad.
The Four Horsepeople of the GOP Primaripocalypse
Keep in mind, the background of all this is the looming GOP gubernatorial primaripocalypse pitting Byron “Larry Wilcoxson is my bodyman” Donalds vs. the lascivious Matt Gaetz, last seen doing podcasts with Andrade vs. the DeSantis Marriage and its mimicry of George and Lurleen Wallace.
Let’s be clear: none of these Horsepeople care at all about Medicaid theft — on the merits. If the right person did it, it would be thumbs up all the way down. This is just part of the stupidest, grossest status game imaginable.
However, when small, awful politicians like Jennifer Canady pretend to publicly care about the public good and decency in order to wound a political opponent, it offers opportunities of convenience for people like me and my readers — decent people, who actually do care about the merits of situations.
We should seize these opportunities boisterously.
If petty power pretends that the public good matters long enough, and it might actually start to matter.
And in any event, every time corrupt public officials destroy each other with their mutual corruption, an angel gets its wings.
That’s right: the angels root for carnage.
How long will Canady/Polk County stay the crown jewel of the decaying Piccolo/Pedicini empire?
The DeSantis v. Canady divorce, combined with the Fred Piccolo’s Persistent Penis Scnadal, puts heavy pressure on deteriorating sleaze empire of Piccolos and Pedicinis — which is now anchored in Polk County after collapsing under politics and penises in Sarasota-Manatee.
Yay for us in Polk.
Here’s a primer on all that I published last year. Essentially, Canady is the most important ATM machine for this gaggle of awful people masquerading as high-powered political consultants. I do wonder if this article maybe helped J-Can decide to flip on Ron. (Naw, I’m sure, like everybody else, she doesn’t read me.)
DeSantis and Pedicini take a beating; Canady's speakership is probably in jeopardy
Here are the biggest losers in Tuesday night’s low-key quite consequential primary in Florida:
And of course, here’s my latest on the massive, still unspooling scandal around Fred Piccolo’s Persistent Penis, which implicates basically the entire law enforcement and political/institutional leadership class in Sarasota County.
So what’s the common thread of all this — other than Pedicinis and Piccolos and Canadys and DeSantises, etc?
Terrible people. Awful human beings. As a general concept.
Citizens keep freely choosing to give terrible people the power to steal from them or cheat them or lie to them or expose their penises without consequence (at least for a while). Stealing from Medicaid to own the libs is as stupid as it is repugnant.
It’s not just immoral to keep giving these people power to harm you; it’s moronic.
Ya’ll should stop. Because they won’t until you do.
Whoa! Best column ever, so far. And the reader gets to check the sources used here, including paywall TBT. First, how was Centene able to rip off multi-millions from Florida Medicaid, which is always short-changed by the Legislature? Diverting $10 million from Medicaid is criminal. Second, the settlement made by the Amendment Four organization is priceless, a reflection of the extent to which "law fare" is being deployed by MAGA (DeSantis?) government in Florida. Third, it is not possible to shame MAGAs as authoritarians have no scruples except when their own wealth or standing is involved. Only voters can take them down a notch.
Looks like organized crime
