Kelli Stargel: rape and incest victims must risk death to carry and birth the result of the atrocity they experience
This will be the shortest article I have ever written.
For good measure, she would force a child raped and impregnated by her father to endure nine months of pregnancy — presumably as punishment for something — to risk her life to give birth to a child of incest.
Gov. Ron DeSantis calls it “reasonable” and will sign it.
I do not believe the government — with raw force backed by guns — should force women and girls to risk death to deliver the offspring of rapists and incest fathers. I am unreasonable like that.
If you see Kelli Stargel around town, I would encourage you to tell her if you agree that your daughter or wife should be forced by the guns of government to completely disrupt their lives for nine months in a challenging — sometimes debilitating —physical condition that can kill them for the sake of a rapist or incest father’s crimes.
I wish Republicans would put this same level of effort into helping living people as they do trying to “help” the unborn. This bill helps no one, but it gives desensitized Republican voters something to feel all high and mighty about, I guess. Meanwhile, quality of life for all of us, Republican and Democrat, continues to decline. One day they’ll realize that you can’t eat feelings of moral superiority.
Bottom line I and each individual woman are the only people who can make decisions for our bodies . I don't see her writing bills to castrate rapist orforce women who have multiple kids they cant take care of to have their tubes tied. She and others need to mind their own business.
