Happy Canady Day to those who celebrate
Florida's most invasive marriage condemns us to forced birth war. More women/girls will suffer/die to end pregnancy; more men/boys will be accused of rape; and your IVF access is *always* at risk.
I want Charles and Jennifer Canady associated with this era of Florida life forever.
So hiatus or not, I can’t let Canady Day pass without giving them their full measure of personal attention for their public work. Strangely, they seem less publicly eager today to celebrate imposing 6-week forced birth than they were a year ago.
Anybody seen any pictures of Jennifer Canady beaming lovingly and hugging her buddies after yesterday? Has she issued any public statement celebrating her husband’s ruling? Send to me if you see something.
One of my readers suggested on the Substack app that I should give Supreme Court Justice Charles Canady “credit” for arguably casting the deciding vote to allow a perfectly clear and legal referendum on his wife’s 6-week forced birth bill to move forward. I disagree. Not inventing a fake legal reason to be a judicial dictator is a very, very low bar for a judge, especially a fake “originalist.” Admittedly, not everyone on the Court met it; but still.
Rather, I’m going to give myself credit. Do you think Charles Canady would have submitted his supposed life’s ambition/goal directly to the public will if I had not relentlessly, personally tied 6-week forced birth to him and his wife in their nominal home town in the last year or so? ¯\_(ツ)_/¯
I report; you decide.
Bonnie Patterson-James also likely deserves credit. Jennifer Canady has been a church mouse since she created a multi-day Grady Judd manhunt on Patterson-James for tossing balled up panties into Canady’s celebratory event at Marilyn Paul’s crisis pregnancy snitch center.
You can’t win a war of self-defense — even a non-violent one — without direct confrontation against the invaders.
War until peace — some general thoughts, facts about forced birth in Florida
Getting pregnant and carrying an embryo/fetus/child to birth remains more physically wrenching (including after giving birth), painful, and dangerous today than anything a man ever does in his entire life, except maybe fight in a modern war. But historically, more women have died in pregnancy/chid birth than men have in war.
My great grandmother and great aunt both died in child birth. I have multiple female relatives who would have died in child birth just more than a generation ago. I think of them when I see this smug sneer.
And whatever this is, I guess. That’s Sen. Colleen Burton, R-Lakeland, who no one really cares about because she has no will of her own or political potency. But still.
Every pregnant woman’s pregnancy — even those with no intention of terminating it — just got much harder and stress-inducing because of Charles and Jennifer Canady (and I guess Colleen Burton).
Think of that luminous smile (and that weird joker cackle) when you watch your loved one suffer. Think of all these gross hands reaching into your body in your most intimate and vulnerable moments.
And then think about these facts/points:
Forced birth increases babykilling
Abortions have surged in Florida since Kelli Stargel and Ron DeSantis imposed 15-week forced birth, which will now become 6-week. The fake pro-life movement doesn’t care and/or thinks the way to change that is get crueler, I guess.
But people are resourceful. And even the U.S. Supreme Court that launched the forced birth war seems unwilling to restrict the pills that do most pregnancy termination today. So … we’ll just see if more babies are born in Florida, even with 6-week forced birth.
Every desperate woman/girl now has a powerful incentive to accuse boys/men of rape
I’m going to get into the nightmarish bureaucratic mirage of the fake “exceptions” to 6-week forced birth in a different article. But they give every woman/girl who doesn’t want to carry and give birth to Florida Man’s child a real incentive to accuse him of rape. Pretty sure ya’ll haven’t thought that one through, bros. People overcome their incentives all the time; but they still create powerful social gravity. And this exception says nothing about adjudication — just documentation. It’s a government invitation to describe sex as rape for self-protection.
At the same time, on the flipside, because of the legal consequences it brings for the man or boy who created the pregnancy, the so-called rape exception also creates powerful incentive for Florida Woman/Girl to stay connected to a rapist for life — particularly in an underaged “consensual” situation — rather than endure a prosecutorial ordeal as victim/witness.
Well done, Canadys.
Make Bonesaw Jesus take a clear position
If even the J6 rapist wanna-be dictator thinks the Canadys’ 6-week forced birth is "a terrible thing and a terrible mistake,” what’s his position on the referendum? Make him answer or make him duck it like the coward he is.
The referendum should run endless ads with him saying that.
Canady lied about 6-week forced birth; and they’ll *all* lie about protecting IVF, too
Political forced birthers have revealed themselves as fundamentally untrustworthy — both in open lies like Canady’s about 6-week forced birth and in their total and complete abdication of moral responsibility to operationalize their brutal and counterproductive policy preference in any kind of way. They don’t care about how anything works; they just want to flatter themselves about their fake morality.
So if we give them any space at all, ever, they will attack IVF — just like they did in Alabama. The Canady Supreme Court is already making noise about embryo personhood, which is a direct attack on IVF.
A 58.5 percent “loss” just prolongs the war
Bonesaw Jesus’ smack talk about 6-week forced birth could push the referendum over the 60 percent mark it has to hit. But I wouldn’t guarantee it — even with polling like this:
I will guarantee 57 percent. So best case for forced birthers: you wake up way on the demonstrated wrong side of the most divisive political issue in our society, which you fully own. That 57 percent will exert powerful, year-after-year gravity, particularly on Florida’s ruling Republican party.
Those of us on the right and popular side of this war we did not want — but you imposed on us, Canadys — will have no choice but to keep fighting it until you make a real offer a peace, which does not now exist.
Here’s the referendum, the first line of defense — and the best chance for ending the endless war here in Florida before it really gets started. I just donated.
In any event, win or lose, it will be easy to remember April Fools Day as HAPPY CANADY DAY!!! moving forward. Indeed, it seems a quite fitting date for celebrating the blood-soaked lies that got us here.
"Tip of the Hat" to Billy and "Wag of the Finger" to the Canadys.
We must all remember this in November! Thanks Billy! Appreciate all your work.
