The pro-lifers are all babykillers now
If "life begins at conception," then of course *your* IVF kills *your* babies, fake pro-lifers. Your embryos aren't magic. What did you think you were saying? And what do you want for Canady day?
The night in 2022 that candidate Jennifer Canady, R-Nepotism, lied to my face — and the faces of her other constituents-to-be — about her pending sponsorship of 6-week forced birth in Florida, she (and her opponent Phillip Walker) kept droning on about how they believe “life begins at conception.”
Lo and behold, the Alabama Supreme Court took Jennifer Canady and all the others seriously. So did her husband Charles Canady’s Florida Supreme Court dictatorship. Led by Justice Carlos Muniz, the “court” seemed likely to decree Florida voters have no right to free themselves from forced birth because a test tube is a person — or something.
And then …
… entirely predictably, the rich GOPers at Jennifer Canady’s Lakeland Christian School (and everywhere else) went through this mental process:
“Wait, I used IVF fertilization. You mean I believe that my discarded embryos are life that began at conception? You mean I’m a babykiller? It’s not just the gay people with their IVF that are babykillers? You mean it’s not just the rape victim and her embryo who is a babykiller? It’s me? And I can’t do fertility treatment anymore and my kids won’t be able to.”
“Yes, that’s correct. I am the Alabama/Canady Supreme Court; and I say so.”
“Sign me up for up Team Babykiller!!”
Thus ended the last fake vestige of the fake “pro-life” movement. Forced birthers themselves have killed “life begins at conception” as a fiction as surely as they kill their own embryos to get pregnant. The end of “life begins at conception” means the total, final collapse of the fake “pro-life” movement.
We are today in the middle of most hideously funny — and yet bloody and vicious — collapse of a national con in the history of America. I mean here’s a real statement from radical forced birther and Florida congressman Byron Donalds, who may end up the J6 rapist wanna-be dictator’s choice for VP.
“IVF is something that is so critical to a lot of couples. It helps them breed great families.”
LOL.
It is psychotically brutal to consider a petri dish a person — and to act on it with the full power of the government’s guns. But I have to tell you, I respect the psychotically brutal Alabama Supreme Court more than any of the craven fake “pro-lifers” humiliating themselves yet again like a bunch of vicious Benny Hills.
Even the right-wing GOP Alabama Attorney General is defying the GOP Alabama Supreme Court psychos. That creates a clear moral precedent for the federal government to defy the psychos on the U.S. Supreme Court when they outlaw pregnancy termination pills.
What will Canady Day bring?
And yet, amid all the humiliating backtrack, Canady Day still looms here in Florida.
The Charles Canady Supreme Court is to supposed rule soon on:
Whether Florida’s the anti-forced birth referendum can move forward.
So what will we all find under the Canady tree when it it finally arrives?
Before the IVF meltdown and the panicky direction of the rapist J6 dictator who commands the GOP, I would have predicted the Canady Supreme Court will throw out the referendum because “a test tube is a baby” and bring 6-week forced birth with no workable exceptions into law.
Now, I have no idea what combination of mayhem and craven cowardice we’ll find under the Canady tree. I have no idea what the forced birther/fake pro-lifer clown show even wants from its Santa Clauses.
Whatever happens, it is my goal to make sure Jennifer and Charles Canady are associated, by name, forever with this gross period of time and the stupid, bloody brutality they’ve imposed or will impose on the people of their “home” — where I doubt we’ll ever see much of them again. We never saw much of them before, to be honest. I didn’t even know Jennifer Canady existed until two years ago.
Even while they laugh at Lakeland from Tallahassee and whatever catered donor lunch they’re being fed that day, I want their gross nepotism to come with a searchable price, forever.
Adding a couple questions to the list
In the meantime, I’m adding three questions to my forced birth policy questions lost for our local elected officials (of which only Lakeland City Commissioner Stephanie Madden has answered so far).
Does human life begin at conception?
Is an embryo in a petri dish a person with rights enforceable by the government?
Is a discarded IVF embryo a murdered child, whose murderers are prosecutable?
And here’s a philosophical/moral question for the rest of you fake “pro-lifers,” which I heard from someone else:
If you were faced with a tray of 1000 embryos and one 2-year-old child trapped in a burning house — and you could only save one — which would you save?
Please email me with your answers. I’ll happily publish them.
All of this, fake pro-lifers — all of this bloody absurdity you’ve trapped us in and won’t do anything to fix, this entire 50-year endless billion dollar fake Roe hatred industry has been for nothing. Nothing. Nothing. Nothing.
It’s all for nothing. You won’t even follow through on your core fake talking point.
All the hatred and divisiveness you created because somehow your embryos are magically not babies, but a poor rape victim’s embryos are; all the misery you fake pro-lifers so smugly inflicted on other people just because you wanted to feel like you were better than those of us who actually take life seriously.
It’s for nothing.
You never believed your own bullshit. You never bothered to take even a moment of time or effort to wrestle with how an after-Roe world would work. And you can’t be bothered to take any responsibility now.
You’re just pathetic or silent.
Even I am shocked by how completely and totally unprepared you were to “win.” And I am hard to shock. The depth of my moral contempt for your paralysis has not yet found a bottom.
So let me just wish you a Happy Canady Day in advance.
There is no doubt that life begins at conception. BUT you raise some very important and valid questions. Each step of scientific advancement, such as IVF, brings a set of new ethical challenges. And you raise some really good ones. That's why I like to keep an open mind and LISTEN to the opposition. However, a return to the old days of full-on nine month + abortion is something we don't need to return to. That's literally throwing the baby out with the bath water (or the embryos as the case may be). Great article.
This is what happens when you have laws being made and interpreted by people who know next to nothing about female and gestational physiology. They don't know that the first few weeks included in the "Nine Months gestation" the woman isn't pregnant at all. The count begins several weeks before she ovulates. They couldn't explain preeclampsia or ectopic pregnancy, but they have the hubris to enact and interpretate laws on pregnancy and childbirth. They care little about the already born people whose lives they are destroying in this worship of the fetus. The forced birthers are cruel, cruel people!
