So let's meet a real State Attorney from 1926. J.C. Adkins didn't hide behind norms that don't exist when risking his life to challenge the Ku Klux Klan with the moral and legal power of his office.
Just out of curiosity, how would you expect the prosecutor’s office to respond or communicate differently if they were currently and authentically investigating Nolte’s campaign financing?
"We are investigating Rick Nolte's self-reported cash contribution felony. He has denied/admitted the crime. He is innocent and will amend his report. He confessed and we've deferred prosecution. As we did for Christine Thornhill, we've required that he stay out of elected politics for 10 years."
Way back in the '70s and '80s when I was running for office, the state's attorney took errors and attempts to hide things on campaign finance reports very, very seriously. I was always petrified that someone was going to find a math error and report me. I can't imagine putting down a bogus expense or contribution! Guess no one cares anymore! It says something about the quality of leadership in the political parties who support the candidates and officeholders.
Our county leadership is an embarrassment. We have no leadership - not in a true sense. "Leadership by sound bite." This blog is our only continual public accounting of the facts yet neither the PCSO nor the SAO will act. And Haas had a great role model, so no excuse for his ineffectiveness. (Fear doesn't count.)

I mean, if he's somehow "innocent," SAO and himself are doing a terrible disservice to Nolte. All I have is public evidence of a felony.

And it would go from there.

God help us if we don't vote.
