Richard Corcoran's hilarious DoE/Jefferson defense sounds like a confession
Corcoran brags that nobody at the Florida DoE ever investigated him when he ran the department and oversaw the Jefferson scandal. Yeah, that's exactly the point, Dick.
Richard Corcoran is now hilariously defending himself in the DoE/Jefferson scandal by bragging that no one in department he oversaw ever investigated his role in the scandal, which he also oversaw, according to key witness. Really, he is. That’s his defense. I’m going to show you the quote in just a second. It is funny.
The feds are doing the corrupt state’s job because Corcoran/DeSantis investigators would not
But first, check out the following excerpt from my official complaint (#2022-020063) about Corcoran, Ralph Arza, MGT, and the entire cast of grifters connected to the DoE/Jefferson scandal. I submitted this February 10, 2022 to the DoE’s OIG. That’s about 16 months ago. Here’s a link to the full content.
But most crucial to this bid-rigging scandal is a meeting held at the Department of Education Building on Nov. 1, 2021. No one has investigated it. No one has fully documented who attended. No one has gotten an under oath account of who said what and made what representations with what authority. …
… I, complainant, want you, IG Miguel, to name everyone at that meeting and put everyone who attended under oath. Start with Florida Charter School Alliance lobbyist Ralph Arza, who had no standing to attend that meeting — and yet attended.
I want you to put Education Commissioner Richard Corcoran — former Trey Traviesa business partner — under oath. Former DoE Vice Chancellor Melissa Ramsey testified to Blackburn that she understood Corcoran to control the entire bid process and have sole discretion to award the bid. Presumably Blackburn knows this because he wrote it in his report.
The OIG dismissed my complaint without doing any of what I asked. That’s where the feds come in — to actually investigate the MGT side of the bid scandal, which is the real side. The federal subpoena investigates what and who the Corcoran/DeSantis DoE and OIG refused to investigate. Note what’s in the federal subpoena, among other things:
“Any meeting or communication … taking place on November 1, 2021.”
And
“All communications … between Ralph Arza … and MGT Consulting Group.”
Corcoran and Arza are, of course, attached at the hip in everything.
Corcoran’s radioactive dingbat chutzpah could be fashioned into a powerful bomb
All that is prelude to Corcoran’s statement from Thursday.
This is what Corcoran told the board of Fake New College when asked about DoE/Jefferson in his presidential interview. Follow the tweets:
The corrupt state investigators who answer to me and DeSantis tell me I’m awesome
Instant reactions:
This not the flex Corcoran thinks it is:
“I’ve been in the highest levels of government, I’ve been involved in the biggest decisions over the last probably 30 years in Florida. I’ve never been subpoenaed, I’ve never been questioned, I’ve never been anything whatsoever.”
There are serious it was a perfect call vibes to “unbelievably good job of handling.” The feds should absolutely subpoena every state investigator who touched this case and document all communications between Corcoran and state investigators.
I’m pretty sure I never heard of Richard Corcoran before 2014. He got elected with 5,300 votes in 2010. So, 30 years? Thirty years ago is 1993. He was starting law school at Regent University then.
Seriously, what kind of dude tells that kind of stupid, easily checked lie in his public job interview while a federal grand jury is going proctologist on the entire department he used to run, along with its grifting hangers-on, who are also Corcoran’s best buddies?
A not very bright one.
This could be an episode of “White House Plumbers.”
And I just want to urge Chris Rufo and the rest of the Fake New College board: please, please, please, please, please, please, please make Corcoran your permanent president. Please.
I want to do a running gag on the grift war between Fake New College and Florida Kelli-technic University here in Lakeland. Corcoran will make that so much more fun.
LOL. Corcoran ain’t Trump. Nobody’s gonna storm the federal courthouse for him
And finally, this is what tells me Corcoran knows he’s in trouble.
He’s not saying: I am innocent and here is why.
He’s saying: It was two years ago that we covered this up successfully. Biden’s out to get me.
Sure.
Here’s the thing: only one guy can maybe pull that off. And it ain’t the guy who could never poll above 3 percent in the 2018 GOP primary for Florida government.
No MAGAs in viking hats are coming to help you.
Funny that a few months after getting the gig as president, Corcoran actually was subpoenaed - in the Jacob Engels libel case, in which he used New College General Counsel Bill Galvano as his personal attorney.
Because one grift is never enough.
