This is a farce, part 2: we lib "wolverines" did our duty honorably
Our "friends and neighbors" put us through this for reasons they cannot explain. So don't debate them; they'll just lie to you. Whatever happens is on them.
Trump’s top economic advisor is openly vowing to crash the stock market if he wins. Trump plans to double Wal-Mart prices with the stupidest tariffs ever conceived. And they’ve said they’ll take away health care coverage away from millions and millions of people — MAGAs very much included. (Although now they’re flip-flopping with the election stake.)
That MAGAs are praying for all of this to happen to them is the insanity cherry atop the shit sundae of a malignant farce our fellow citizens and friends and neighbors and family members have insisted on putting us all through for some deep, dark, spiteful reason none of them can explain coherently beyond Fuck Joe Biden.
Why put everyone through this? ¯\_(ツ)_/¯
Believe me, I have asked nicely and/or challenged aggressively many to explain.
Hating trans people is the only halfway specific and coherent excuse any of them mumbled more than once. There’s a lot of gratuitous talk about male genitals in these strange discussions. But other than that, even the nature of that trans hate lacks any actionable form. There is no policy question, no position. Just ephemeral othering — again, with some very weirdly specific obsessions with genitals.
I regret to inform you all that I don’t believe trans policy has anything to do with what our friends and neighbors and families are willing to inflict on us. It’s just the new “pro-life,” a vibe disguised as a fake belief to reach for as an excuse to behave absurdly and immorally.
Rather, for some portion of the country, the screenshots below provide the most honest, and plausibly accurate explanation I’ve seen — and it’s … a farce, driven by the insecurities of weak men incapable of taking responsibility for anything and by their hatred of women who surpass them.
I do think Watters/Kirk-ism is real for some people — even if Watters and Kirk are just grifters.
But for most of the people who insisted on putting us all through this yet again — certainly the people I’ve had running discussions with — I still think William Faulkner has the best answer:
What sets a man writhing sleepless in bed at night is not having injured his fellow so much as having been wrong; the mere injury he can efface by destroying the victim and the witness but the mistake is his and that is one of his cats which he always prefers to choke to death with butter.
The mere injury he can efface by destroying the victim and the witness but the mistake is his …
Yep.
You will not argue anyone out of that psychology. They will gaslight you into oblivion.
And you are probably not as willing as I am to taunt people strategically and personally with that weakness. (I have a confession: it is very unpleasant.)
Unless you are as willing as I am, I would advise you to end any “debate” or “discussion” when you reach the “the mere injury he can efface by destroying the victim and the witness but the mistake is his …” portion of your chat.
If you listen closely, you’ll know it when you hear it.
Respect yourselves — and our accomplishments — my fellow Wolverines
I published this article — really a strategy paper — on March 4, 2023. Read it. It holds up.
Key passage:
The same Florida state “government” of gangsters that destroyed the Florida state education system will invade the United States of America in 2024. Whoever wins this civil war-as-referendum — the gangsters or the country — will control the U.S. Military and federal law enforcement power.
We don’t know who will command Florida’s invasion yet — tiny Emperor Ron DeSantis (with his pseudo VP Jeb Bush) or Florida-ism’s Pope Donald Trump. But it makes no difference. Whoever wins their gross song of ice and fire will then lead Florida’s army of the dead right toward Colorado and Wisconsin and Pennsylvania.
Florida’s political and cultural invasion of the country should be laughable. The Florida “blueprint” has made us a hollowed out shell of a state — pleasantly livable for people with capital (like me) because a few big private interests team up to “govern” our warm spaces enjoyably for customers who can pay. And a few cities, like mine (Lakeland), which is blessed with a money-belching socialist power utility, create a nice and warm urban experience.
But as a state, rather than a vacation destination, retirement home, or temporary crash pad for remote workers and tech bros, we are: extremely high cost, extremely low wage, extremely corrupt, high inflation, nation’s worst education “learning rate,” bad public service, high crime, low birth rate, high and spiking abortion rate, and very very old. (I will detail all this, yet again, in a subsequent essay.)
If America fully grasps that Florida Blueprint by 2024, I feel quite certain that we will repulse this absurd invasion-by-mafia. The referendum on Florida should not be a close run affair.
But our worst American billionaires and mouthiest showboating sheriffs like hollowed out states; and they far prefer mafias to unions or citizens mobilized politically around public good.
Florida is their model state for decadent capital cut free from any public oversight, public good, or sense of shared citizenship. And they will try to impose that Florida on everybody else by pretending that Florida is not Florida. Anti-civic capital is often dumb. But it’s heavily armed; and it has great sway — although not total sway — over what the public is told.
Crushing Florida’s invasion — explicitly rejecting the failed “Florida Blueprint” at the national level — is crucial to any effort to reform Florida at home. The Florida Blueprint must culminate, in the military sense, as an expansive political force. That’s the sine qua non of Florida’s future.
And that requires revealing and relentlessly repeating the truth about life in Florida and the people who run it in a way that puts them on the defensive nationally.
I then followed up earlier this year after we lib Wolverines helped even Republican America reject DeSantis-ism:
It also holds up. Key passage:
Well, MAGA Pope Trump’s GOP smashed the tiny emperor’s irrationally cocky army of Pushaws and private jet jockeys as easily as Trump gropes unwilling women. (Sorry Trumpers, he is who he is. I can’t make your citizenship choices for you. But you will own them. Expect no moral mercy or understanding from me this time around.)
Trump’s formally adjudicated sexual abuse and Capitol Lynch Mob leadership aside, his defenestration of DeSantis is a useful first step. It’s good for Florida and America.
Even better, when America as a whole saw the “Florida Blueprint” personified by Gov. High Heels, America as a whole rejected Gov. Pudding Fingers thoroughly and humiliatingly, with the national contempt growing almost by the moment. Watching DeSantis in the polls has been like watching the Enron stock price circa October 2001 (go Google it, youngs).
Yes, in large part, that’s because he’s personally very weird and off-putting and cruel in the way that people who torture cats are weird and off-putting and cruel.
But it was also because Florida, as a model for America, got a thorough thrashing — including by Trump himself. Of all people, Florida Man Bonesaw Jesus himself attacked the Florida Model of “governing” a week or two after I published my piece.
He sounded just like me. LOL. I’d bet a lot of money his gross people read my stuff.
The GOP primary campaign ended that day, with the Trump campaign’s unanswered dismantling of Florida as an expansive idea. A loooooonnnnnng, slow humiliation ensued, tempered only by extensive luxury travel.
In some ways Trump is now running as the ultimate Florida man — full of gross indulgence and utterly devoid of any concern for the state where he lives. Only a Florida Man would have the chutzpah to run against Florida from Florida when the party he owns has been in power here for a generation.
And then I had this to say to MAGA Freaks and MAGA Fluids alike…
Anyway, ya’ll will generally share my mirth for now in laughing at DeSanctimonious. We can do that together. Trump gives you permission.
But then you’re all gonna try to convince yourselves it’s fine to line up behind a more senile version of the Zieglers writ large — the Capitol Lynch Mob leader with a terrible economic record, a jury-adjudicated sexual abuser, a criminal openly running on “retribution” and “dictatorship on Day 1,” who you all know would rape your wife and daughter and force them to have an abortion after getting rid of Roe v. Wade.
To do this, you will have to hate me enough to inflict a Capitol Lynch Mob dictator on me even though you don’t really hate me. To justify your pathologies, you must make monsters out of the rest of us who don’t share them. You have no other choice if you’re unwilling to look in the mirror and consider what you’re inflicting on your neighbors — yet again. You will need to find somebody to blame for your actions who isn’t you.
After doing this, you will then want to pretend nothing’s happened between us. LOL. You all know this; and yet you expect the rest of us to tolerate or excuse it with little or no moral consequence, which we generally did in 2016 and 2020, for the sake of living with you in the future.
Not this time. Not me.
Not with open J6 dictatorship on the line. I will not participate in your self-justifying monstering process, in any way. I will not debate my lack of monstrousness with you. But I will mercilessly turn your moral weakness against you this time in a way I did not in the past.
Well …
All on them, not on us
As a final reminder my dear libs, none of this is on us.
I know I have zero responsibility for whatever [MAGA’s] hang-up is. It is not my issue to work through. It is based on nothing I have ever done or not done. It’s not your issue either, Libs. You are doing your duty. You are fighting honorably, imperfectly for the decency of your country. That is all that you/we can control.
Do not internalize that moral rejection of you in favor of MAGA lynch mobs. It is not about you. Fighting the actual government consequences that hang-up imposes on us is hard enough without blaming yourself for it. You’re blameless.
If a lynch mob can’t convince somebody, you’re not going to convince that person.
Freeing ourselves from any burden of responsibility is crucial to making any Trumptatorship — should it occur — weak and short-lived. The rejection and destruction of the Trumptatorship runs through intimate moral confrontation with our fellow citizens who dishonored themselves, their God, and their county to inflict this stupid spectacle on all of us.
Kamala Harris is a perfectly normal politician running a sound race against a deteriorating rapist criminal lunatic inciter of lynch mobs openly planning a dictatorship that crashes the economy.
It’s on them; not us.
If it was Jesus Christ running instead of Kamala, the polls would look the same. And it would be the libs doing GOTV for Jesus, while the MAGA Fluid talked shit about His hair and genitals.
Enjoy explaining the supposed long-term benefits of crashing the stock market and giant price-hiking tariffs at the same time as it happens in real time. And I will specifically hold you, personally accountable in public. Like I said, a farce. All gonna be on you. Trump didn’t do anything in his term to change Obama policy except giant rich people tax cut, so any good stat from the early days is Obama’s stat. This time crashing stock market and jacking up prices will be *his* change and he will own it — as will you. I will just put my money in cash and rise it out in home I own mostly free and clear because I’ve worked hard and leaved within my means and been responsible my entire life. I’ll be telling you that you did it to yourself. And you’ll still blame everybody else.
Ricardian Free Trade Theory has nothing to do with offshoring jobs. America cannot continue to export jobs to the rest of the world, while they sell the finished merchandise back into the country. The wage stagnation alone will cost US workers more than the tariff. Trump lowering the corporate tax on tradeable goods has some enforcement issues accounting wise, but it IS the right solution. Lowering corporate taxes across the board further will cost the government revenue. The Federal Government has to get money from somewhere. But lowering the tax on Tradeable goods makes our exports more competitive. Countries that run a massive trade surplus with the United States would not be wise to enter a trade war. Much better to cut a deal that benefits both sides. The US is a continental power. We could produce almost everything we need right here. Obviously we don't want to do that, but we could. Your economic model of high immigration and massive offshoring of jobs would put the stagnant and falling wages that Americans have experienced since 1970 into overdrive. Under Trump REAL WAGES increased 8%. Under Biden they have fallen 5%. Great for Capital in the short run. Until the American consumer finally rolls over for good.
