55 of 67 Florida sheriffs bend the knee to the rapist criminal J6 dictator. But Grady Judd isn't one of them. Why?

There is no chance the flamboyant MAGA-adjacent Polk County sheriff didn't know his fellow showboating sheriffs were going full public criminal/Capitol Lynch Mob love. Why didn't he join them?

Here’s a pretty good example of why people mistrust law enforcement much more than they used to. Fifty-five out of Florida’s 67 elected county sheriffs just openly endorsed a Capitol Lynch Mob dictatorship built on “retribution.”

That’s right. Even bluish/purplish Bay Area sheriffs, Hillsborough’s Chad Chronister and Pinellas’ Bob Gualtieri, announced their intent to enforce Trump’s dictator “retribution” on their constituents. Chronister is a particularly craven politician, who tried and failed to get Lisa Miller voted off the Polk County School Board for some unknown reason in 2022. I mocked him and his gross puppeteer Anthony Pedicini for that faceplant here. It’s a fun read.

In any event, these fake cops lined up like green sheep, as I wrote yesterday, behind:

a more senile version of the Zieglers writ large — the Capitol Lynch Mob leader with a terrible economic record, a jury-adjudicated sexual abuser, a criminal openly running on “retribution” and “dictatorship on Day 1,” who you all know would rape your wife and daughter and force them to have an abortion after getting rid of Roe v. Wade.

They lined up meekly and pathetically behind the idol who defiled their religion and turned it against Jesus Christ Himself.

I am not disappointed or surprised.

I have zero expectation of civic honor or professionalism from any elected sheriff in Florida. I’m sure there are a couple of exceptions. But as a general group, they’ve become gross politicians before cops, if they’re cops at all. They have zero respect for their fellow citizens and constituents and are not, in turn, worthy of our respect, as a political law enforcement power club authorized to kill us.

Their endorsement shows their priorities: and those do not include moral, professional law enforcement.

Where was Grady?

And yet, there was a giant Grady Judd-shaped hole on that Trump sheriff list.

Where was Grady — the patron saint of politician sheriffs, the bobblehead hawking, moon-pie eating celebrity all these other criminal-supporting showboat sheriffs went to school on?

Grady Judd never met a tiny dictator DeSantis political event — from removing prosecutors to trying to outlaw protests — where he wouldn’t campaign and/or trash talk in uniform. So why did he bail on this MAGA list?

The “God Grady Guns” sheriff has endorsed candidates many times before — from legislators to School Board members. Indeed, Grady endorsed the Tiny Dictator DeSantis himself over Trump as recently as October.

I assure you, Grady Judd knew this list was coming. Whoever arranged it was sure to ask Grady if he wanted to join. And he didn’t join.

So Grady is either …

• Unwilling to endorse a gross criminal sex offender and would-be Capitol Lynch Mob dictator on moral and law enforcement grounds.

• Still bitter that Trump humiliated his favorite little man.

• Waiting to bend the knee to Trump until all the attention can be focused on him.

• Waiting to do it real quietly and hope nobody notices.

I sent this note to the sheriff and his spokesman, the honorable and decent Scott Wilder, seeking to clarify:

I noted with interest that the Sheriff did not join 55 of his fellow sheriffs in backing the J6 dictator/sex offender running on “retribution” in the presidential campaign. Can you say why? Is he planning to join that list?

I know the sheriff previously endorsed DeSantis. So this seems to be a choice rather than a policy of non-endorsement. 

We’ll see if I can get him to answer.

If not, Polk MAGAs, I have to say: this looks like quite the diss from your favorite camera-hogging bobblehead. And I’m here for it. Ya’ll should get him on the record if I can’t.

Here’s an idea: perhaps sheriffs, like the military, should just try to enforce the law professionally and honorably

When I am elected your sheriff, (LOL) I can promise you I will never endorse anyone.

The power to arrest and kill in the name of the state should be a politically neutral power — even when the endorsed aren’t J6 dictator rapist criminals.

In my view, elected law enforcement leaders should emulate officially apolitical stances of the U.S. Military and just do the damn jobs I pay them to do as best they can.

Instead, these clownish coup dictator henchmen with badges are making an absolutely mockery of their oaths. It would be disgraceful if they were capable of disgrace.

So it is a bit heartening to see that maybe, possibly, for now, Grady Judd has a moral, ethical, professional line he won’t cross. Let’s see if he keeps it.
