How on earth did Ron and Casey DeSantis let Chris Rufo give Grifter King Richard Corcoran a $784,000 golden albatross to hang around DeSantis’ presidential campaign.
Wow, it was clear the board had already made up their mind and wanted to just push the vote through. Except for one member there was no true questioning or specifics. The public was much better prepared than the board.
I actually am really sympathetic toward the idea of a “Hillsdale of the South”, but this baffling decision is a pretty ugly stain on the project. I guess the calculus is Ron owes Richard something and this is how he’s paying that debt, and the hope is that nobody remembers in two weeks. Hopefully someone can be held to account someday.
$784K (base salary plus housing allowance) probably understates Corcoran’s take, since he’s also standing in line for a 15% “incentive” payment, plus car allowance and a full plate of benefits.
